On behalf of the B.C. Civil Liberties Association, Canada's oldest civil liberties organization, and many concerned Canadians, I am writing to formally request that you appoint a public inquiry into the treatment of Mr. Maher Arar immediately upon becoming the Prime Minister of Canada.

Please find enclosed a copy of an open letter to you published today in the Globe and Mail from the BCCLA regarding this matter. Also find enclosed copies of the BCCLA's Proposed Terms of Reference for a public inquiry.
