Timothy Christie, PhD,
is a health care ethicist with the B.C. Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS. Timothy
previously worked with Vancouver Coastal Health as Manager of Clinical Services
with the Downtown Eastside Team. He presently teaches Ethics and Ethical Decision-Making
for the Faculty of Medicine at UBC and has taught health care ethics courses at
the Universities of Victoria, New Brunswick, and Ottawa.
He has worked as an ethics consultant
for the provincial governments of New Brunswick, and British Columbia, as well
as for Health Canada and the Correctional Services of Canada. He obtained his
PhD in Philosophy from the University of Ottawa 1999 and is completing a Masters
of Health Sciences Degree in Health Care and Epidemiology at UBC. Since graduating,
Timothy has published over 20 papers, abstracts, and technical documents in various
areas of ethics and public health.
